Journeys are a staple of literature, and perhaps the most appropriate follow-up to our beginning theme of “home”. After a little break to allow artists to recharge and produce new work, perhaps even responding to that initial exhibition, we’re planning to base an exhibition around the theme of “journeys”. These don’t have to be physical journeys – I’m sure you can imagine any number of different kinds of journeys which are physical, spiritual or mental. It could be the journey toward recovery, or the opposite – the journey toward disrepair. It could be the journey of a person or a building. We plan to include a piece about the development of our own gallery which would introduce the gallery, so by no means are we expecting only personal confessions. It doesn’t even have to be deep or meaningful on the surface – a journey to school, perhaps? – if you can pull interesting images out of it.
