Martina Hoffman Solo Show
November 2nd 1, 2007 - December 31st, 2007
Martina Hoffman is one of Visionary Art’s foremost female painters. Her “Transcendent Realism” offers the viewer a detailed glimpse into her inner landscapes, imagery that has been informed by the dream state, meditation and shamanic journeys. Much of her art is showing a deep connection to the sacred feminine, as well as reflecting a deep reverence for universal interconnectedness and the interdependency of all life.
“The Visionary artist makes visible the more subtle and intuitive states of our existence and produces maps and symbols which reflect consciousness and have come to reflect visionary culture. In using are as a tool for transformation, we have the opportunity to create a reality as beautiful, healthy and strong as our imagination permits.”
Martina Hoffmann has taught painting workshops at institutes such as Esalen and Omega, as well as having spoken at cultural conferences worldwide. Her work has been exhibited and collected internationally, while being published in books such as “True Visions”, “Noospheres”, “Drinking Lightning”, “Illuminatus”, “One Source- Sacred Journeys” and “The Return of the Great Goddess”. Her work has also been represented in numerous magazines and publications such as Magical Blend, Shaman’s Drum, Maps, Entheogene Blatter, Wellbeing Magazine, Expose, and Nexus.
The artist lives and works in the US and Spain.

Robert Venosa Solo Show
July 6th, 2007 - August 2nd, 2007
Robert Venosa Solo ShowRobert Venosa
“If the most exciting artwork once can hope to encounter is an exploration of the furthest reaches of the imagination then Robert Venosa must surely rank among the luminaries of our era. His painting is both evocative and archetypal, a fascinating exploration of essentially mysterious realms of being. It is the revelatory quality in Venosa’s painting that one finds so intriguing. His world is a world of mysteries and secrets, but we have the sense to fully grasp the portents he is presenting. Venosa paints the astral imagery of inner space. His crystalline goddesses, effulgent landscapes and liquid skies strike a deep chord because they seem to resonate with our yearning for dreams, visions and sacred and translucent forms – his imagery quite literally enfolds you with its magical power. It seems to me that Venosa has his own unique style - his paintings are immediately recognizable. They speak to us in a special way, and they take us somewhere that we have perchance forgotten: to a domain inhabited by spirits, gods and elementals. A cosmic terrain which lives on in the language of our dreams.” – Neville Drury, AuthorThere are 62 images in this gallery

Ben Brown
Benjamin Brown came from the east and at a young age headed west in search of his fortune, learning many valuable lessons the hard way on his road to the promised land. Benjamin’s obsessive nature lends itself to an intense immersion in his subject matter. In 1998 he was introduced to glass, and a fascination with the molten material captivated him. He integrated steel and other media into his work to escape stagnation in the single medium, and explores in sculpture the inherent and individual qualities of the materials he employs. In 2007 Ben graduated with distinction from The California College of the Arts in Oakland, California, where he currently resides with his family. He has shown at galleries in Oakland, CA and Eugene, OR and has work in a private collection in San Francisco. (Quoted directly from Ben's site www.benjaminbrownart.com)

David Willis
"As a lampworker and artist, my interests currently are in two directions. One being technical lampwork, represented in my work by thin, classical, wine glasses and vessel styles influenced by the Venetian tradition. The other is a strong interest in large scale sculptural and architectural art.
Vessels and goblets speak for themselves, and are studies in technique and form. This work allows me to practice skill development while striving to produce challenging objects I admire. My recent interest and work have been mostly in non-functional goblets which offer me more room for self expression while still including the demanding technical aspect of goblet making. My other work reflects my belief that I can use the versatility of working with glass and a torch to produce pieces on an unimagined level. The possibilities that could be realized with lampworking are currently unknown. This is very exciting to me and most of my current work is experimentational with structural engineering and design on a relatively small scale as a precursor to future work."

Jerry Garcia
Jerry Garcia is best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the enduring Bay Area rock band the Grateful Dead. He has also been associated with other musical groups, including Jerry Garcia Band and Old and in the Way, and has made many contributions to the recorded work of artists as disparate as Art Garfunkel, Bruce Hornsby, Warren Zevon, David Crosby, Grace Slick, and Ornette Coleman. As a young man he found his interests divided between visual and musical expression, and he attended the San Francisco Art Institute, where he studied with Wally Hedrick and Elmer Bischoff. Music came to claim his full attention, but he never stopped sketching. His work with visual arts has always been a personal amusement, and the notion of selling his paintings has come about in a purely accidental way. As such, he reamrked, "I hope nobody takes them too seiously."

Mark Henson
Mark lives in Northern California, and was formerly educated with a degree in Fine Art from U.C. Davis. He knew he wanted to be an artist when he was a child and has always been able to touch the core of creativity, ideas that have never been expressed uniquely. Fortunately his family and teachers noticed that this is who Mark is, "The Artist". He has traveled the world, spending time in the Far East and Central America. He loves Bali because "the people integrate art and the spirit into daily life and they love their children."
Mark paints in the classical tradition, millions of brush strokes per painting. He stretches and prepares his own canvas. He mats and frames all his own reproductions. He loves to paint large, priding himself in just squeaking the paintings through the doors. If we had larger doors and a big enough truck, he would paint larger. He is happiest when he has a brush in his hand. There are 7 images in this gallery

Richard Chavez
Richard Chavez is an accomplished sculptor and painter. In the late 1960s Richard studied painting with Berlin Expressionist Ernst Feuerstein. He continued his education at the National Academy of Fine Arts and the Stuttgarter Kunstchule both in Stuttgart, Germany in the early 1970s, and later studied marble sculpture with Italian artist Benvenuto. His first solo exhibit was held in San Francisco in 1986 and for the past two decades he has exhibited in a myriad of galleries across the nation. Working in a variety of materials ranging from marble, and found wood to acrylic paint, Richard’s work shows the influence of his Expressionist education but goes beyond that to reflect a world uniquely his own. Richard’s intrepid, affecting works display his deeply personal approach to art. “I am moved by my intense longing, intuition and inspiration to do my art.”
